CWTS Journal Indicators

  • CWTS Journal Indicators is a freely accessible Internet resource that provides an insight into bibliometric indicators for scientific journals. The indicators have been calculated by the Leiden University Centre for Science and Technology Studies based on the Scopus bibliographic database produced by Elsevier. A key indicator is SNIP—Source-Normalized Impact per Paper, which measures the average citation impact of articles in a journal by calculating the entire context of the citation in the scientific field of the journal and thereby providing a more accurate between-field comparisons of citation impact. Users can find more information on the indicators for individual journals via the ISSN, title or publisher, or lists of journals (including data) based on the Scopus content fields and categories that can be ranked by a variety of criteria.
