  7. SCImago Journal & Country Rank

Category: Social Sciences and Humanities Multidisciplinary Fields Natural Sciences and Technology    Type: Bibliometric Data Citation Indexes Internet Resources

SCImago Journal & Country Rank is a freely accessible portal that includes bibliometric data on scientific journals and countries. Scientific indicators draw their data from the Scopus (Elsevier) collection of citation indexes. The portal offers many indicators of scientific publications and displays them in the form of tables or graphs that can be exported to MS Excel tables. The main bibliometric indicator is the SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) that measures the prestige of scientific journals. Individual journals can be searched by title, publisher, or ISSN; lists of journals (with data) can be retrieved on the basis of the Scopus subject areas (27) or categories (313), which can be ranked by various criteria. Similarly, we can retrieve lists of countries; a graphic interface facilitates searching for data on individual countries. The portal allows for the elaboration of analyses and graphical presentations of comparisons between selected scientific journals, subject areas, or countries. Based on a two-year period, the portal can display graphical presentations of the cited network and bubble charts for the presentation of bibliometric data on individual countries.

It also allows for the creation of links from bibliographic records to full-text documents, export of search results to bibliography management tools (Mendeley, RefWorks, and EndNote), and notification settings (by e-mail, RSS, or HTML feed). It provides a variety of tools for the analysis of author citation (h-indeks) or document citation, impact factors for journals (alternative indicators SNIP and SJR), or entire institutions. Scopus records are indexed in global indexes of tools for finding information such as EBSCO EDS, Primo, or Summon. The collection is updated weekly.
