  2. Analytical Abstracts

    The bibliographic collection Analytical Abstracts (provider Royal Society of Chemistry) is the leading source of the most important information in all fields of analytical chemistry. It holds records from the world's scientific and professional literature from 1980 onward (with abstracts from 1984 onward), including around 100 key titles in the field. Around 98% of the base contents comprises records from articles, the rest is from other sources (monographs, reports, conference papers). Update is weekly. Advanced search using indexes enables searching from the aspect of analytes, matrixes, and/or analytical methods and techniques. Records contain specific chemical data: CAS registry numbers, data on substances, chemical and commercial names and synonyms. The selected records can be exported to tools for bibliography management or forwarded by e-mail.

It contains a wide range of primary sources from general and organic chemistry covering the isolation of new natural compounds, biosynthesis, structure determination, and studies of biological activities. The records contain complete bibliographic data on original articles, the structure of treated compounds, and links to the original publication by publisher. The service allows for searching by topic, parent organism, biological activity, or structure type as well as searching contents by classification according to parent organisms, compound classes, or biological activity. Users can create their own personal profiles to save their search results and set up notifications of new contents, save compound structures, and export selected records to bibliography management tools.

    Springer Protocols is a collection of more than 18,000 full-text articles with detailed descriptions of laboratory protocols of tested and reliable analysis methods in the fields of natural and biomedical sciences including biochemistry, biotechnology, cell biology, bioinformatics, genetics, immunology, radiology, microbiology, molecular medicine, neurology, cancer research, pharmacology, toxicology, botany, etc. It compiles protocols published in the last 30 years in the book series Methods in Molecular Biology and other sources by Humana Press as well as methods from a variety of laboratory manuals such as The Biomethods Handbook, The Proteomics Handbook, and Springer Laboratory Manuals. The detailed and synoptic descriptions are simple to use and the methods are applicable in users' laboratories. Users' notes represent an important factor explaining the purposes for which the methods were used by other researchers and their experiences.

Each record contains complete bibliographic data on the original article, complete reaction schemes, and links to the original publication. The service allows for searching by topic and type of reaction or surveying the content using classification by type of reaction and saving the structures and exporting the selected records into tools for bibliography management. Users can create their own personal profiles to download their searches and to set notifications on new content.
