The Military and Government Collection is intended to search for professional and scientific literature and read articles in the fields of military and government matters. Coverage includes military sciences, military skills, military technology, military history, defence policy, foreign policy, legislation, etc.

The collection is intended for researchers in the fields of military science and history of warfare and for anyone interested in information about a wider range of military matters.

Topics covered include bibliographic data with abstracts of articles from around 400 journals and magazines by different publishers, over 300 of which feature full-text articles such as Air Force Controller, Army Reserve Magazine, Defence Studies, Joint Force Quarterly, FBI Law Enforcement Bulletin, and many others. There is a 1–12 month publisher embargo (deferred access to full-text articles) on some publications. The collection also contains full-text books, government documents, reports on countries, the American Heritage Dictionary, 4th edition, and more.

Users can search for material via the basic or advanced search interface according to subject terms (Subjects), view titles of journals and magazines, and search for pictorial material.
